Abstract

Many factors can affect the growth of fish, and one of the main factor is associated with feeding. In the case of fish farming, feed and growth are directly related to food. The breeding of some species have the motivation to eat as an obstacle, being necessary to investigate factors that stimulate feeding. This project aims to evaluate the feeding behavior, growth and feed conversion of Florida pompano (Trachinotus carolinus) under the effect of different feeding stimulants (visual, chemical or both acting together). Having established the effectiveness of such feeding stimulants, the increasing of the motivation and food intake can provide more growth and feed utilization, reducing costs of production. (AU)
