Abstract This work addresses the characterization of the high temperature reactions between different nanoparticles oxides, CeO2-ZrO2 and CeO2-SnO2, by the direct observation of the phenomenon by in situ High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy (HR-TEM). The changes in the size and morphology of the nanoparticles, and the phase transformations that can occur during the reactions will be documented. For this study, the High Angle Annular Dark FieldScanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (HAADF-STEM) technique will be used to follow the arrangement of the atoms in the superstructures; and Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy (EELS) measurements will be made to measure changes in the oxidation states during heating and reaction of the nanoparticles. | |
