Abstract

This project aims to analyze the constitution of the discursive formula "black consciousness" and to investigate the presence of intellectual discourse (academic and scientific discourses) in the genesis process of this formula. To do so, we intend to work under supervision of Professor Johanes Angermuller in order to acquire theoretical and methodological tools to assist the doctoral thesis associated to this project. The discursive network drawn by the movement of "black consciousness" and by the genres of journalistic field is not restricted to contrary or favorable positions from black movement demands, but covers a wide range of discourses and social forces in tension and confrontation. In turn, the intellectual discourse emerges as a vital element in the constitution of this discursive network and puts the formula into the center of many controversies. We are also interested to become acquainted with the method called "quasi-qualitative approach" (ANGERMULLER, 2005, 2013). This analysis method does not simplify the nature of complex objects, but "emphasizes the opaque materiality of it". For the author mentioned, if purely qualitative approaches are based on the idea that social actors build the real, according to the discursive "quasi-qualitative approach", on the contrary, both the world and the actors are discursive constructions (idem, 2013, p.60). Finally, this research internship aims, besides the acquisition of fundamental theoretical tools to the development of the thesis, the strengthening of ties among researchers from São Paulo State and this important research center in France.
