Abstract

I do not have courage, courage had my son. I have legitimacy. This sentence uttered for designer Zuzu Angel constitutes in starting point for the analysis of the motherhood, principal objective of this project, having for thread conductor the political struggle of this woman to elucidate the circumstances of the disappearance of your son, Stuart Angel Jones, during the dictatorship civil-military in Brazil (1964-1985). The feelings - as the mother love end the pain of the loss of a son - are here understood, as from Marcel Mauss, as social constructs, expressions of symbolic order unconscious. For such analysis, we consider the discussion of topics that necessarily are tangent the question of the motherhood, namely, gender relations, human rights, women s movements and political struggle of the mothers of prisoners and disappeared politicians.
