Abstract

This study lies in the field of inter-relations between Culture and Education, focusing on School Agroecology, with emphasis on the paradigms of Science Education. The empirical context of the research will take place on sharing information, strengthening of institutional links and research at Univ. Autonomous of Barcelona (UAB), in the Group Recerca en Educació per la Sostenibilitt, School i Comunitat - Gresc@ (Research Group on Education for Sustainability, School and Community), more specifically, the instrument that the group created to develop school agroecology projects, Grup d'Educació per la Sostenibilitat al llarg de la vida (Education group for sustainability throughout life - GESLV), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mariona Espinet. We will collect data in order to produce knowledge about Catalan cultural identity and its influence on the production of educational practices of "school agroecology", in the context of GESLV group and its participants, in the town of Sant Cugat Del Vallès, Spain. The goal is to analyze possible relationships between cultural identity and educational actions of the subjects (educators, participants, employees) involved in school agroecology, seeking to outline the cultural context in which this educational practices occurs. The research methodology is inspired by the phenomenology of Merleau-Ponty and implies a collaborative work, understood as the establishment of social practices among different actors involved in the process. It is intended to contribute in the field of studies linking Science, Education and Culture, as well as to enlarge the important contemporary discussions that stress the importance of identity in educational practices.
