Abstract

Ecosystem based management (EBM) has been proposed as an alternative decision making strategy that incorporates development and conservation issues. Ecological Aquaculture could fits in EBM. This internship project aims to develop a scientific discussion in the master's current project "Environmental Sustainability of lambari-da-mata-atlântica, Deuterodon iguape" under the entire context of ecological approach for aquaculture. All data was previously collected in Peruíbe's Government Aquaculture Farm and analyzed taken in account: use of natural resources, efficiency in use of natural resources and release of pollutants to the environment. The results will be discussed under assistance of Professor Barry A. Costa-Pierce. This internship opportunity allows the establishment of an international partnership with Professor Costa-Pierce, which improves the scientific perspective and the network of the master's student.
