Abstract

The problem of charging electric vehicles is related to determine the optimal programming of recharging PEVs in order to minimize the total operational costs and satisfy the functional conditions of electric energy distribution systems. To achieve this goal, it is usually needed a certain coordination level between all the EV from the network and a central controller device. However currently the hardware and the communication infrastructure required for these methods of central charging do not exists or are too expensive. In this scientific initiation research the charging of the electric vehicles is discusses as a distributed idea, in which the decisions of charging are made individually in each domicile without any knowledge of the network operational condition. Furthermore, this decision is made using only instantaneous and/or historical measurements of the local magnitude voltage. The distributed charging algorithm will be implemented on the POSSIM simulator, which offers an interface with MATLAB to fulfill control actions and uses the SimPower toolbox for the load flow calculation.
