Abstract

The feeling of urban insecurity in recent years, have grown. This is at odds with the actual records of crimes in Presidente Prudente, in São Paulo. This fact is presented as justification for the acquisition of private security systems and/or surveillance. This leads us to ask whether access to these private services, as well as its geographical location within this city, can point to the intensification of socio-spatial differentiation process. Answering this question is the central aim of this research project.
