Abstract

Understood as a process that has been intensifying socio-spatial inequalities, socio-spatial fragmentation in medium-sized cities, as a hegemonic trend, has altered both the fabric of the urban fabric and the very interactions between city dwellers, now crossed by an even more intense movement away from social classes. In this context, everyday mobility appears as one of the dimensions through which the fragmentation and inequalities that manifest themselves in the urban space. This project aims to understand how the socio-spatial practices and gender constructions of workers and inhabitants of Presidente Prudente - SP, from different social classes, are being constituted, investigating whether their mobilities are influenced by the process of socio-spatial fragmentation. Gender is experienced differently by people and based on the intersectionality between gender and class, we believe we can understand the configurations of different mobilities of women in the city, taking into account the social markers that complicate and structure power relations. With the methodology of urban routes, relief maps, field diaries and interviews, interpreted by the discourse analysis tool, we intend to understand the spatialities, security and/or insecurity, accessibility, inaccessibility and factors that permeate and contribute to the experience of the city of women, as well as the gender construction of these subjects, analyzing the tensions and contradictions that occur in the urban space, in its materiality and immateriality.
