Abstract

The medium-sized cities, in Brazil, present trends of deepening of the socio-spatial differentation and of the disruptions - materials and symbolic - that could point out to the socio-spatial logic fragmentary. This process stems, among others factors, from the brazilian cities are submitted to the perverse logics of the enlarged reproduction and infinite from the capital and to the neoliberalism dictates, doing with what the urban space, increasingly, becomes merchandise, changing, therefore, the principles and the meaning of the right to the city. The socio-spatial fragmentation is considered in this proposed research as a hypothesis and the analysis of elements that could converge for its constitution will be realized in two medium-sized cities: Ribeirão Preto, in São Paulo State, and Maringá, in Parará State. From a reading anchored in the urban mobility and in the urban accessibility, the research will be founded in the analysis of the spatial practices of citizens belonging to different socioeconomic strata, that occupy diverse spatial situations in the cities - with highlight to the housing developments of social interest and the enclosed residential spaces. Thus, we will search to understand how the iniquitous mobilities associate with the socio-spatial logic fragmentary and with the notion of the exercise - or of the not exercise - to the right to the city. The research has comparative stamp and is supported by qualitatives and quantitatives researching procedures: bibliographic review; field works; informal and preliminary interviews; semi-structured interviews with citizens, well-informed agents and applications drivers; analysis of the public transport network and of the transport by application; analysis of the citizens routes linked to the empirical dimensions of the labour, the consumption and the leisure, mainly, but also those spatial practices associated with te study. The research now proposal is linked to the Thematic Project entitled "Socio-spatial fragmentation and brazilian urbanization: scales, vectors, rhythms, forms and contents - FragUrb", financed by São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP).
