Abstract

Nocturnal enuresis is defined by urinary incontinence during sleep, if discarded medical causes. It occurs more frequently in childhood and it is necessary for its diagnosis the minimum age of 5 years. Emotional difficulties during the maturational development, as well as parents' intolerance, social isolation and low self-esteem portray this picture. The treatment occurs through the use of medications and / or psychological treatment, supported by, for example, a urine alarm. This treatment consists of a sensor which is placed in the child's bed or clothing, connected to a device that emits a sound when some episode occurs. The aim of this study is to verify, after screening and organizing the patients' medical records of participants from Projeto Enurese -Enuresis Project-, the variables of adhesion, effectiveness and withdrawal of treatment with urine alarm. Through a deeper analysis of the records and the data collection of variables concerning treatment adherence, this study may contribute with more effective procedures proposals applied from the time of screening until the completion of the protocol and monitor the assistance with alarm urine.
