Abstract

N-Heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) are known for being good ligands in metal complexes, but they also are capable of acting as organocatalysts in important reactions, such as the Stetter reaction and redox esterification. In the literature, there is not much published regarding the immobilization of this kind of catalyst in heterogeneous support and, until just recently, immobilization of chiral carbene precursor has not being reported. In this project it is sought to synthetize a series of achiral NHCs precursors, immobilize them in monolithic resins and evaluate their performance in different reactions under continuous flow conditions. If the initial tests show promising results, a chiral NHC precursor will be synthetized and immobilized to develop an asymmetric protocol. (AU)
