Abstract This research project aims to study the educational foundations of cinema and its relation to the contemporary imaginary of dystopia, nihilism and affirmation through hermeneutic methodology. The educational foundations of cinema - cognitive, philosophical, aesthetic, mythical, existential, anthropological and poetic - constitute the categories of film analysis to be employed for the understanding of the imaginaries of dystopia, nihilism and affirmation configured by the selected films: Cosmopolis (2012) by David Cronenberg, Holy Motors (2012) by Leos Carax, O Som ao Redor (2012) by Kleber Mendonça Filho, Antichrist (2009) by Lars Von Trier, A torinói ló (2011) by Bela Tarr, La Grande Bellezza (2013) by Paolo Sorrentino, A Febre do Rato (2011) by Cláudio Assis, Winter Sleep (2014) by Nuri Bilge Ceylan and others. What intends is to understand - thus the choice of hermeneutic methodology - how these films dialogue with the contemporary, through fabulation of the world's images that force a pedagogical pressure in the production, dissemination and interpretation of the senses and ways of living currently in circulation. | |
