Abstract The objective of this study will be evaluate the effect of mineral sources in walking ability and bone quality in broilers. For this, will be conducted two experiments, in the Experiment I, will be purchased 400 bird Ross® 308 line, with 30 days from a commercial aviary, and allocated in 8 boxes with 50 birds each. Welfare will be evaluated by two methods, gait score and the latency to lie. These methods will be compared and correlated. For the second experiment will be used 2,520 male chicks one day old of the Ross®308 line, equally distributed among treatments. The experimental design will be a randomized blocks with five treatments (T1: control, T2: 40 ppm of Zn, 80 ppm Mn and 10 ppm inorganic Cu + 40 ppm Zn organic between 1-42 days; T3: 80 ppm Mn and 10 ppm inorganic Cu + 40 ppm Zn Organic from 1 to 42 days; T4: 40 ppm Zn, 40 ppm of Mn and 7 ppm Cu organic between 1 and 21 days and 40 ppm Zn, 80 ppm of Mn and 10pmm inorganic Cu + organic Zn 40ppm between 22 to 42 days; T5 = 40 ppm Zn, 40 ppm of Mn and 7 ppm Cu organic between 1 and 21 days and 80 ppm Mn and 10ppm inorganic Cu + 40 ppm Zn organic between 22 to 42 days) and 8 repetitions with 63 birds each. The birds will be evaluated for performance. When the broilers to reach an average weight of 2.8 kg, will be evaluated for gait score and latency to lie. After, will be slaughtered 240 birds, six birds by repetition (48 birds / treatment) among the middleweight of each repetition (± 5%). To 43 days, the carcasses and cuts will be weighted for calculating the yield. The birds will be evaluated also for skin resistance and spondylolisthesis, dry matter, Seedor index, resistance and bone diameter, percentage of ash and mineral bone and Black bone syndrome. The data will be analysed using the statistical program SAS 9.2. | |
