Abstract

It is established in the literature that physical activity can contribute positively on the health of individuals of different age groups. With regard to the different domains which include physical activity in the elderly population, the international literature suggests that leisure time is the domain that has higher levels of physical activity. However, the same does not apply in developing countries like Brazil. Thus, this study aims to analyze the relation of physical activity in their different domains, with hemodynamic factors, quality of life and risk factors in the elderly population. A cross-sectional study of analytical and descriptive character will be conducted. The sample will consist of at least 319 people aged over 60 years. The city will be divided into five regions, and the streets will be selected randomly. Anthropometric measurements and blood pressure will be held at the participant home, as well as questionnaires for morbidities self-reported, Baecke questionnaire to measure the level of physical activity and to measure the quality of life the SF-36 questionnaire will be applied. The Komogorov-Smirnov test will be used to verify the normality of data. Information on physical activity and risk factors will be presented in frequency. The association of cardiovascular risk factors will be analyzed using the chi-square test and its magnitude by Binary Logistic Regression.
