Abstract

The Energy Efficiency have been the main topic of several projects and its results bring benefits straight to the electrical power systems preventing them to work in the border of their physical limits. Others points currently very explored are the concepts of smart grids and their infrastructure, demand response and their impacts and also the smart meters as the main devices of the electrical system. The purpose of this project is to develop a methodology using intelligent techniques applied to the smart meters. After a comprehensive search about Energy Efficiency, intelligent computational tools are going to be applied to the data which have been taken by a smart meter for modeling electric devices and analyzing the impact of them on the load curves. The results of this analysis are going to be used as a support to the costumers and the utilities for improving the energy efficiency between the supply and the demand through chasing better consumption habits and the possibility of monetary incentive for a managed demand, preventing the system overload.
