Abstract

Environmental psychology put as central to analysis how the individual perceives and evaluates its environment while suffering its influences, involving us in understanding construction processes of identity and attachment to the place linked to modes of occupation of spaces. Today, the growing uniformity of the physical space, the concomitant socio-spatial segregation, weakens the processes of appropriation, identification and linking of the subjects with their places of life. This logic permeates the form of space occupation that models the closed residential condominium; being built in a location, usually without listening to local people, they create new inequalities in place, transform the sociability and restrict the encounter with others. The project aims to understand how the process of transformation of identity and attachment to the place happens in residents of a district that has undergone rapid changes in the local landscape, caused by the construction of condominiums in the surrounding area. The research will take place in Bonfim Paulista, Ribeirão Preto's district (SP) and will participate 40 years old or more bonfinenses, and the number of participants will be defined according to the sample saturation. Data collection will take place through: semi-structured interview; route; drawing affective map, representing Bonfim before and after the arrival of condominiums. The analysis will be qualitative and will emphasize both the meanings shared by the subjects as to its singularities.
