Abstract

This research project aims to study and development of a transmission and simplified approval system for the Brazilian Digital Television System (SBTVD) using the newly developed technology Layered Division Multiplexing (LDM) and which is implemented in Software Defined Radio (SDR).The implementation of all the blocks that make up the transmission system and receiving the SBTVD, coupled with LDM technique and synthesis SDR, very extend the project development time, so a simplified architecture with the omission of some blocks that do not harm the operation of the system will be developed. The changes to be made to the current system should allow the transmitter system receives two Transport Streams (TS), for the two signals into video and Standard (SD) audio qualities and High Definition (HD) performs the whole process of coding and modulation, and transmits using the principles of LDM technique for transmitting in two layers.The receiving system should receive these two radio frequency (RF) signals, and perform all the demodulation process, decoding and correction of potential errors entered by the transmission channel, in order to provide the user information with the highest fidelity possible. The operations of the entire system will be divided between the hardware of the SDR platform adopted and a computer, which basically will have much of the digital signal processing operations. With the development of this project seeks to use a transmission system and more efficient and technological reception thanks to the use of techniques and most advanced technologies, opening the possibility for the complete application for the future transmission of new services, and video in superior qualities already transmitted.
