Abstract

Sarcomas are malignancies originated of mesenchymal tissue or their derivatives, and are designated by their histogenesis. They can be divided into sarcomas of soft and bone tissue, and both etiologies have not yet to be fully elucidated. Due to the aggressiveness of the lesions, they have a high mortality rate in affected patients. Early diagnosis and proper treatment planning contribute to a better prognosis. This study aims to carry out a retrospective clinicopathological analysis of sarcomas, and try to suggest possible risk factors and analyze the different types of treatment performed with their answers. For this we will make a retrospective study of patients who developed sarcomas from 1980 and were treated at our Institution. Clinicopathological data, image details and related treatment will be collected from medical records with standardized form for the study. Histopathological analysis of the H&E slides will be held for histological confirmation of tumor types. This work will bring us important information can contribute to the world stage in the search for greater clarification of clinicopathological and epidemiological features of the sarcomas. We also hope that this study may help in the future in the field of preventive medicine and oncology collaborating to reduce the lethality of sarcomas. (AU)
