Abstract

The present project seeks to analyze the production process of current japanese animation. The first japanese animation movies are from the beginning of the 20th century, but, japanese animation as we know it has started to develop by mid-century, influenced by Walt Disney's animations, starting to gain more visibility after World War II, with the outbreak of big animation companies like Toei Animation, in Japan. This research has the purpose to study the process of production on japanese animation, from a study of the 2D animation techniques, as well as the analysis of technical specificities found in those animations.
