Abstract

This project aims to analyze aspects of the nature of mediation under a phenomenological view, seeking to identify and understand the moment the act of mediation begins and how it perpetuates in different complex realities. Amid various discussions on approaches to mediation within the Information Science (IS) we can find a gap that can impact on possible extensions and applications of this concept and its practices - a gap which refers to the limitations of the meaning and scope of this concept to the area. This means that the IS is concerned with conceptualizing and working the impact of applications of information mediation, but not yet exist studies about the essence of mediation holdings and, therefore, information mediation and other mediations which the area is proposed to work (such as reading), which ultimately results in differences between researchers and the applicability of the concept, bringing an unknown infinite in its restrictions. The questions are: What is the real nature of mediation? There is only one nature? It is possible to mediate a reading of the world? You can understand the impact of the world reading the construction of knowledge? To answer such questions this research proposes an analysis to be guided in a phenomenological view, that bringing meaning and consciousness highlight, you can analyze mediation in different realities. The phenomenology of Edmund Husserl vision is used. The research, qualitative, include steps Bibliographical Analysis and interview, both using the Textual Analysis Discursive for data analysis. The results may shed light as the importance of mediation for CI and understanding of the possibilities of its application in the area. (AU)
