Abstract

This project will study the effect of chlorine and fluorine doping on SnO2 synthesized through a chemical route, which produces nanopowders with high chemical homogeneity. The main target is to study the sintering and macroscopic properties of this material. At low temperatures, SnO2 based-systems do not show phase transformation, nor oxidation variation, so, the doping effect can be studied separately. Since the additives can act as a sintering additive, like previously observed using cation doping, a relationship will be stablished between sintering and the macroscopic properties of powder. In addition, the thermal events observed during sintering will be compared in situ using an dilatometer and an DSC twin configuration hardware.
