Abstract

Transparent conductive oxides arouse interest in research because they are materials with great application and potential uses in new technology areas. Within this category of material, tin oxide doped with fluorine (FTO) is widely used for preparation of transparent electrodes with various applications, of which we can highlight panels for solar energy conversion. For the production of these electrodes the usually employed process is the method of spray pyrolysis or the chemical vapor deposition method, obtaining thin films on substrates or insulating surfaces. As FTO is a material in demand in technological applications, this research project aims to study the controlled synthesis of single crystal nanobelts of tin oxide doped with fluorine or pure, using the carbothermal reduction to obtain the material. This method already widely known and presents itself as a process of simple to use, reproducible and allows control over parameters of the formation of crystals. The material obtained from synthesis will be characterized and evaluated in terms of composition, morphology and crystalline structure and as part of the final proposal the mechanism of electrical transport in nanostructures that are experiencing the highest levels of doping will be assessed.
