Abstract

Sarcopenia is a chronic condition associated with physiological aging process and is defined by the reduced mass, muscle strength and function. In chronic kidney disease (CKD), sarcopenia is prevalent and is associated with increased morbidity and mortality and the occurrence of cardiovascular complications. In this context, this research aims to translate and adapt the "Sarcopenia Quality of Life" instrument (SarQoL ) for the Brazilian context. For this process will be followed the steps recommended in the literature, which are: initial translation, synthesis of translations, back translation (back translation), reviewed by a committee of judges, pretest, presentation and evaluation of the reports of cross-cultural adaptation process. The study will be submitted to the Ethics Committee of the Federal University of São Carlos - UFSCar. Fully will respect Resolution n.466/2012.
