Abstract

Paralysis of terminal branches of inferior laryngeal nerve can cause a difficult to diagnose dysphonia. The findings of the videolaryngostroboscopy ( VLS ) , considered the gold standard method for the evaluation of dysphonia patients , are not well known . Electromyography of the larynx is the definitive diagnostic method for this condition, but due to low clinical suspicion, its indication can not be considered .Objective: To describe the findings at the VLE that characterize these patients. Methods: In this retrospective study , we review the medical records of patients from HCFMUSP Voice group who had the diagnosis of thyroarytenoid muscle selective paralysis confirmed by electromyography of the larynx and describe the findings to the VLS.
