Abstract

Not only the modes of teaching in higher education have drastically changed in last years, as well as the role of universities in society and the economy, and will continue to change significantly, competing globally for students, academics and funding. Concerning this scenario, the universities supposed to need both digital and business strategies to stay relevant and leverage new digital capabilities to differentiate themselves through new and emerging business models. This research proposal aims at identifying similarities and differences among the strategies and practices for digital transformation in higher education for three Institutions from Brazil, Germany and South Africa. The research methodology will conduct by multiple case studies approach evolving: School of Economics, Business Administration and Accounting at Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo (Brazil), Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (Germany) and Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences, University of the Western Cape, (South Africa). We expect the results contribute to both academic and business perspective. For academics providing contribution to body of knowledge related to business analytics, mainly for academic analytics practices, and for business to the better understand the digital transformation affects every part of the university and its impacts and consequences. Finally, this proposal intends to attend the scope of mutual research agreement between São Paulo and Baviera states. (AU)
