Abstract

Within the sexual division of labor a paradox rests: everything changes but nothing changes. This apparent contradiction proves itself true when one looks at the woman's insertion mechanisms in the labor market. Although the situation of women has improved in recent decades, inequality between gender groups persists. It is within the productive capital restructuring, evidenced by flexible accumulation mode and outsourcing, that the female labor becomes even more precarious forms. To study the dynamics of outsourcing in the public service and the construction of gender hierarchies in the organization of work space, the feeding sector will be watched, more specifically industrial kitchen, the University Restaurants at the University of Campinas (Unicamp). The objective here is to identify how the sexual division of labor is organized in this productive space and then articulate the different types of contracts to a possible class, gender and race hierarchy.
