Abstract

Epithelial dysplasia can be present any histological diagnosis of premalignant lesions clinically classified as leukoplakia, erythroplakia, eritholeukoplakia. This condition is associated with the risk of transformation into carcinoma. The oral squamous cell carcinoma is a malignant neoplasm that mainly affects smokers and alcoholic drinkers between the 5th and 6th decades of life. The objective of this study is to evaluate the protein expression of RASSF1A end K-RAS in epithelial dysplasia and compare them with the results of the expression of those proteins in cases of squamous cell carcinoma of the previous study by immunohistochemical technique. The results will be correlated with their clinical characteristics and prognosis. The variables between the groups will be compared using the x2 test or Fisher's exact test. The survival analysis will be evaluated by the Kaplan-Meier method and the Cox proportional hazards model.
