Abstract

This project aims to understand the diet differences between men and women in riverine communities of the Sustainable Development Reserve Mamirauá - Amazonas. The project involves analyses of semi-structured diet interviews, in addition to the data processing using the Nutritionist Pro program. The hypothesis investigated in this work is that women have a more cariogenic diet than men (more carbohydrates consumed and more often). Data was collected on the type and quantity of food consumed for five days in the wet season and five days in the dry season. The dietary record method is the 24-hour recall. This project is part of the grant Young Researcher (2013/00069-0). (AU)
