Abstract

Big and small cities in Latin America suffer with mobility issues. As a result of a lack of investment in infrastructure and the population growth, cities became increasingly dependent on cars and now huge traffic jams slow down citizens commuting and thus reduce their quality of life. On this cities the public transportation system is another victim of the mobility issues and as a consequence is unstable, unreliable and prone to failures. Under these conditions, passengers depend on precise and up to date information to better adapt to common transport service level fluctuations. Unfortunately, transport information systems in Latin America are fragile and as a result uninformed passengers are unable to avoid system. (AU)
