Abstract

Coleoptera is considered one of the most important orders of insect pests of forests in the world, causing damage to exotic and native species with large economic losses and difficult to control. In Brazil, the increase of reforested areas of exotic species, especially eucalyptus, has raised problems with these coleopteran pest. The aim of this work is to study the population dynamics of Coleoptera in Eucalyptus sp cultivation. and forest fragment Semideciduous (FES), in the region of Sorocaba, São Paulo and compare these areas as the diversity and abundance of species. Individuals will be collected with light traps, model "all Intral" with fluorescent lamp of 15 watts and powered by 12-volt battery. The collections will be held approximately every 15 days, with the traps installed in the late afternoon and removed early in the next morning. The monitoring period will be from September 2016 to December 2017. (AU)
