Abstract

This research project has as an objetive the synthesis of Ag, Au and AgAu triangular bimetallic nanostructures with controlled size, morphology and composition. In this regard, simple metodologies will be used, environmentally friendly methods and able to generate structures with controlled compositions, as well as the preferencial deposition of Au on specific regions of the Ag templates. In a second moment, the produced nanostructures will be caractherized by the UV-Vis, SEM, TEM and ICP-OES techniques. Finally, all the materials will have their catalytic activities tested face to the Methylene Blue dye degradation reactions, mediated by SPR and via activated O2, in order to investigate the optical proprierties of the synthesized materials, as well as their catalytic efficiency face to this type of chemical transformation. It is supposed the bimetallic materials to have highlight on catalytic activity, once it is expected the synergism between the metals contributing to the improve of plasmonic efficiency.
