Abstract

The forest roads can become in potential sources of environmental impacts, which are mainly related with the water dynamic and sediments, when they are not well structured and allocated. The environmental analyses have supported the land-use management, contributing to the regulation of the undesirable geodynamic process as the erosion. In this context, the project aims at the definition of critical areas to allocation the forest roads, considering landscape characteristic as the topographic, the hydrography and the soil. Thus, we will map these characteristics and the runoff map will be produced through the overlays between the first two. The maps, representing the landscape characteristics, will be aggregated through the Weighted Linear Combination (WLC), that is a Multicriteria Method. Using the Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) statistical analysis, we will determine the correlation among the landscape characteristics (i.e. criteria) and their contribution in the final map. Sites, representing the critical levels for roads allocation, will be checked and measured, using parameters pre-defined, that it be related to the landscape characteristics. Thus, the final map should point the suitable areas for the roads allocations and management, in order to have the water and soil conservation. (AU)
