Abstract

Brazil stands out in egg production, especially in São Paulo, and agro-industrial activity that moves much of the country's economy with this significant production, there is a great demand for research directed to this area. It is known that number of repetitions of the increase provides greater reliability in the results, but this increase may lead to higher increase in costs, which would be a limiting factor in zootechnical experiments. In addition to the high costs in maintenance, bioethical issues have driven the search to reduce the number of animals in experiments. On the other hand, a small number of animals may invalidate these results, if the number of samples and portion size is smaller than recommended, there is therefore the need to be conducted research directed toward this issue. Thus important aspects must be considered, as the coefficient of variation, plot size and number samples, and all of these have great effect on the experimental variation in poultry. In general, the experiments, assays with low accuracy may make incorrect conclusions the researchers to obtain results, and lack of information has made enormous problem for zootechnical experiment. The goal of the project is to compare three methods to calculate and establish coefficients of variation rating ranges for the main variables response in layers, so that the researcher from the variability found for these variables to estimate the optimal size experimental and sample plot, directing the researcher as to the accuracy of the data from your search.
