Abstract

This project is concerned with quantum information and it aims at providing the student with the basic concepts to be mastered by all those interested in working in the field. This includes topics such as postulates of quantum mechanics and density operator, entanglement and applications, cryptography and fundamental quantum algorithms. Finally, in order to provide the student with an opportunity to put into practice the scientific method, some simple calculations will be performed. This will allow the exercise of comparative discussion of results in parallel with the search for physical interpretations. Besides, this will help the student to achieve the theoretical and computational maturity needed to solve problems in the field. (AU)
