Abstract

Currently, there is a growing interest within the scientific community on switched dynamical systems. These systems are composed of a finite number of subsystems and a rule used for selecting each subsystem at a given instant. In our context, this rule is a control signal and must be designed so as to guarantee stability and performance of the global system. The literature presents important contributions on this theme, mainly related to linear switched systems, however there exist several problems of great theoretical and practical interest to be studied. This research plan has as its objective the study of continuous time affine switched systems. These systems are more intricate when compared to linear systems, since they possess several equilibrium points creating a region within the state space. Within this context our main goal is to design output feedback dynamical controllers in order to satisfy H2 and Hoo performance indexes. More specifically we wish to simultaneously design a set of dynamical controllers C_sigma in {C1,···,CN} and a switching function sigma(y), dependent only on the measured output signal so as to guarantee stability as well as H2 and Hoo performance indexes.
