Abstract

The proposal aims to research the visual narratives in the information design field, having the "Observando o Tietê" project (Observing the Tietê) as a study subject, sustained by the "Núcleo União Pró-Tietê" (Core Union Pro-Tietê) of the "Fundação SOS Mata Atlântica" (SOS Atlantic Woods Foundation). It intends to investigate the visual elements and their configurations, starting from concepts and techniques of the infographic and data visualization, to produce visual narratives that fabulate critically about the degradation of the Tietê river, understanding that visual representations mediate the man in the world in his social and political phenomena. In this research is also taken in consideration the growing proliferation of data and the speed of the information circulation in the digital domain, which still lacks filters and processes of mediation so that the content constitutes itself meaningful to the reader.
