Abstract

The changes made in the morphological, chemical, and physico-chemical properties of the implant surface and their influence on the osseointegration process have been the objective of many studies over the last few years. The purpose of this study will be to characterize commercially pure titanium (cp-Ti) implant with machined surface (MS), a laser-modified surface (LS) and laser-modified surface followed sodium silicate deposition (SS). It will be performed the topographic characterization by scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectrometry SEM-EDX, and atomic force microscopy. You will also get average roughness measures roughness measured in cross section, contact angle, and X-ray diffraction - XRD of the three surfaces. The data obtained by the roughness analysis (roughness) will be submitted to analysis of variance and Tukey t test. (AU)
