Abstract

Currently, the DICOM file is widely used as a standard in medical information, including images in the health field. There are seven different modes of this file in the field of radiation therapy. RT Plan mode has all the patient information required for radio therapeutic treatment. From this type of DICOM-RT file and using the MatLab® programming language, it is intended to develop a software that is able to collect the patient and its treatment data to generate, on another output file format, the patient technical sheet, a document that is required by Brazilian law for all health institutions performing radiotherapy treatment. This document must be clear and well organized, functioning as a practical tool to guide the treatment and to comply with legislation. The automatic generation of this document saves medical physicists time and avoids human error when filling a manual form. (AU)
