Abstract

Sedimentary processes are important geological phenomena in evolutional history of continental margins. These processes are controlled by environmental forces from various temporal and spatial scales. Due to the fast increase of anthropogenic activities in marine environments, these studies on sedimentary processes and their consequent deposits are becoming increasingly necessary. Geophysical data, such as seismic reflection, are efficient tools to characterize these deposits. In this context, this study aimed to carry out a research internship at the Instituto Andaluz de Ciencias de la Tierra (IACT) with Dr. Francisco José Lobo Sánchez to give additional support on data interpretation of the types of echo character on the upper continental margin of the São Paulo state.
