Abstract

The weed control is essential practice in the management of crops, however, the use of herbicides may not work in some situations, ranging from problems in the application of technology selecting tolerant individuals and resistant biotypes. In the state of Bahia, in the cotton producing regions, there has been failure to control Spermacoce verticillata with glyphosate. Because of this, this project aims to verify the absorption and translocation of glyphosate herbicide and acetolactate synthase inhibitor (ALS) herbicide by the plant. In the first stage will be tested control of species with application of different herbicides in phenological stages of post-initial, post-normal and post-late (2-4 leaves, 4-6 leaves and flower buds emission respectively). The second part will analyze the uptake and translocation of specific herbicides when using C14. It is hoped that the results, clarify the causes of control failures in the field, as well as establish the best options in control of the species, regardless of the stage where it is present. (AU)
