Abstract

By the Discourse Analysis European, it's intended to infer the discursive, epistemological, and ideological history of Information Science in 1980, the subsequent decade it was introduced in Brazil. From the analysis of two journals, Ciência da Informação and Revista da Escola de Biblioteconomia da UFMG, responsible for the implementation and dissemination of the area in the country, will be structured and showed the contradictions, differences and similarities to the term Information Science at this period. A dialogue between Information Science and Discourse Analysis will be established in order to reveal the discursive practices existing in the area. The analysis corpus consists of items that have the term "Information Science" in the title, keywords or abstract. (AU)
