Abstract

Understanding the topography and dynamics is of utmost importance for the physical and territorial planning, which should take into account the potential environmental and weaknesses that you are working. In this perspective the geomorphological map not only serves the interests of a narrow academic community, but also of the whole society (Ross, 1992).The geomorphological map, having their own techniques and characteristics, can be considered a thematic map can provide analysis regarding the slope of the studied terrain, relief forms, the type of surface runoff, climate type present at that location and even this rock given region, since the relief format is intrinsically associated with Morphostructure in which it appears. These mappings are traditionally made from the use of photo-interpretation stereoscopic techniques on vertical aerial photographs, combined with techniques to obtain morphometric variables by analogical interpretation of topographic maps. However, the increasing advancement of topographic data manipulation techniques by means of Geographic-GIS Information Systems is providing new resources to obtain morphometric variables, which has increased the accuracy and efficiency of these mappings, as well as their chances of application (NEPOMUCENO and LUCHIARI, 2014).In this perspective this research project is primarily engaged in Morphological classification of the Pontal do Paranapanema region in São Paulo from the combination of morphometric variables and relief morfográficas, which will be produced by processing the Rise of Digital Models raised by EMPLASA, of 2010, scale 1: 25.000, using geoprocessing techniques in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
