Abstract

To reflect upon the individual through a perception that integrates both cognitive and noncognitive processes it's a branch derived from studies dated back to the late 20th century, which opposes to the scientific-rational paradigm that picks reason over emotion. Psychology, specially the Historic-Cultural branch and its connection to education, has been stumbling upon themes such as affection in school practices, this comes from a concept where the affective-cognitive unit is acknowledged and put in the center of the learning and knowledge signification process constituted by the individual. The purpose of this research is to identify how such alliance between cognitive and noncognitive processes can be assimilated by teachers from the basic sphere of public Middle School, keeping in mind the relationship established with students and the academic knowledge given to them, analyzing mainly how such assimilation can resound on the teachers' practices from their pedagogical mediation point of view. This research will be qualitative consisting of interviews with five teachers from the first period of Middle School, analysis of signification groups will be applied as a methodological procedure to interpret the interviews.
