Abstract

To investigate in vitro the effect of ionizing radiation on the CTs of restored and sound dentin, 40 human third molars will be randomly divided into 4 different groups (n=10): Sound and Non-Irradiated (G1); Sound and Irradiated (G2); Restored and Non-Irradiated (G3) and Restored and Irradiated (G4). Specimens of irradiated groups will receive a 70Gy dose of radiation. Specimens of restored groups will be restored with Adper Single Bond 2 and Clear Fill SE Bond. Samples will be prepared in accordance with Mazzoni et al., 2009 e Scaffa et al., 2017 for the Immunohistochemical with correlative FEI-SEM and TEM. Images will be taken in areas considered as representative for each group and acquired using FEI-SEM or TEM (JSM 890, JEOL, Tokyo, Japan). Two independent observers in a blind study design will analyze the images. (AU)
