Abstract

The objective of this project is to perform a thermodynamic monitoring of the self-assembly and self-organization of the [Fe4L6] type tetrahedral capsule spontaneously formed by the combination of 4,4'-diaminobiphenyl-2,2'-disulfonic acid, 2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde and iron (II) sulfate. The contribution of each component of the complex that leads to the construction of the supramolecular capsule, which is formed in situ, will be determined by means of the isothermal titration calorimetry technique (ITC). The thermodynamic processes related to the encapsulation of organic molecules such as pyridine, pyrimidine and 1,3-dioxane will be also investigated. (AU)
