Abstract

The objective was to analyze if there is an association between the sedentary behavior and the sleep quality of adolescents 11 to 13 years old with and without excess weight. This is a cross-sectional and quantitative approach. The target population will be the students of the 6th and 7th grade, enrolled in two schools of Integral Education of the City of Presidente Prudente. Accelerometers will be used to measure the sedentary behavior and the time and quality of sleep of the participants. Data collection will take place in two full-time schools in the city of Presidente Prudente, with parental consent and students' assent to participate in the research. The data will be analyzed by the SPSS program, version 22.0. Student's independent "t" test will be used to compare means. For measurements, the Peason or Spearman correlation tests will be used depending on the sample distribution and the binary logistic regression for dichotomized variables, considering the value of pd0.05. It is hoped from the results, to analyze the interrelation between sedentary behavior with overweight / obesity and the poor quality of sleep of adolescents and to take as a starting point a work to raise the awareness of young people about health and to stimulate them to Practice of physical exercises.
