Abstract

This investigation will study antiressonant optical fibers. Those fibers are made with a central hollow core and surrounding structures (rings, ellipses, cones). The project will include the development of a method to manufacture the fibers on silica and will bring some tasks not explored until this moment in our Laboratory. The fibers will be pulled and characterized and some applications will be developed, in particular power over fiber and gas sensing. 3D printed fibre preforms will be produced by different students and will also be investigated during this project.
