Abstract

The school represents a space of relevant contribution for the implementation of accident prevention actions as well as the provision of adequate care in cases of clinical or traumatic intercurrences. The present study aims to analyze the perception of teachers' self - confidence regarding the initial management of clinical and traumatic intercurrences in school, before and after educational intervention mediated by the simulation. This is a quasi-experimental, pre-and post-test study which will be held in a municipality in the state of São Paulo. The production of the empirical material will occur in three stages, which are: pre-test (application of the Instrument of characterization of the participants and the Scale of teachers' self - confidence regarding the initial management of clinical and traumatic intercurrences in school), implementation of the educational activity mediated by the simulation and post test (reapplication of the Scale of teachers' self - confidence regarding the initial management of clinical and traumatic intercurrences in school). The educational activity will be composed of four simulated scenarios that aim to provide the learning of the initial management of the following intercurrences: obstruction of the airways, choking / bleeding, convulsive crisis and respiratory cardiopulmonary arrest. It is expected that the results of this study strengthen educational actions for teachers in order to offer first aid until the arrival of the mobile emergency service. (AU)
