Abstract

The light pipes are efficient unconventional daylighting systems that delivery light into difficult places where recently just artificial light could be. In the undergraduation research, daylighting was studied through the conventional system window by the reduced scale models. In the master, unconventional daylighting delivery systems were studied, focusing on the square section mirrored light pipes. In the Phd was studied the daylighting distribution by the light pipes, focusing on the predictive models of the luminous flux emitted for design of daylighting systems. The Model of Design Light Pipes (MDDL), a result of the thesis requires the coefficient of utilization, which as well as artificial lighting, is based on the room cavity ratios and the daylighting distribution into a room. Thus, the light pipe needs to be considering like a natural luminaire and start with this idea to parameter the room cavity ratios for to obtain the coefficient of utilization. In the post doctorate, research will be developed the parametrization of the different room cavity ration that result in different coefficient of utilization for the light pipe under study. With this to became possible to application of the MDDL for different rooms. Thus, the object of study is the relationship between room cavity ration and coefficient of utilization for the light pipes analyzed, for different indoor places. The goal is to determine the value of the coefficient of utilization for different rooms, allowing the design of daylighting systems with light pipes by MDDL model. The goal is to determine the value of the utilization coefficient for different environments, allowing the design of daylighting systems with light ducts by MDDL model. The method to be applied is inductive empirical and comparative analysis of the results. For both tests will be carried out with new prototypes and already used in master's and doctorate, verifying, for different rooms and different pipes, the coefficient of utilization. (AU)
